In June,  DDP’s founder, Zaki Ameer joined CEOs from around Sydney to help raise $7.3 million as a part of Vinnies CEO Sleepout.
Every night, thousands of Australians experience homelessness, but it doesn’t have to be this way.
When Zaki first moved to Australia alone 20 years ago, he experienced some major life setbacks. Although he had to move to 12 homes in a very short amount of time, he never was forced to sleep on the streets. Which is exactly why he wanted to be a part of Vinnies CEO Sleepout, to experience what it feels like to sleep in cold temperatures unprotected by the comforts of his own home.
Homelessness is a devastating and complex problem in our community, which is why we must take a step back and try to understand the harsh realities that many face. It’s important for those of us who are more fortunate to take part in giving back.
